Brew Your Own Beer Kit

There are few things that rival the immense satisfaction that’s experienced when you finish making something with your own bare hands, whether it’s flat pack furniture with terrible instructions, or a towering bacon sandwich with a calorie count that’s off the charts. Throw alcohol into the mix, and you’re onto a winner.

Brewing your own beer is certainly becoming more popular, predominantly due to ever growing craft scene and the yearning to become the next BrewDog. However, it can be a hard to work out exactly where to start due to the overwhelming amount of resources, guides, forums and blogs available on the internet. If you’re struggling to work out your Alpha Acid Units from your International Bittering Units, then the Brew Your Own Beer Kit from is the perfect foray into the home brew world.

Inside the package you’ll find everything you need to brew 5 litres of your very own brewski, with clear and concise instructions to hand hold you through the process. The kit consists of:

  • A keg
  • A pressure release bung
  • Malt extract
  • Hop extract
  • Yeast

The initial preparation takes a mere 10 minutes, consisting mostly of chucking the malt extract, water, hops and yeast into the barrel and shaking it vigorously. Once this is done it’s a case of leaving it to ferment for 5 days at room temperature, and a few days in the refrigerator. The hardest part in the entire process is resisting the urge for a sneaky taste.

We’ll update the post once we’ve had a taste, but of course it will be made all the sweeter by the fact we brewed it ourselves. If you’re debating whether to pursue home brewing then the Brew Barrel is the perfect solution, giving you a primer on the various steps throughout the process and without having to splash out on lots of fancy equipment.

You can grab yourself one for just under £30.
