With films like Wonder Woman and Fate of the Furious, 2017 is already turning out to be a big year for Hollywood action films. Later this year, the much anticipated film Acts of Violence, where actress Melissa Bolona appears alongside Bruce Willis and Sophia Bush will be released.
Acts of Violence is based on a screen play by Nicolas Aaron Mezzanatto, and is directed by Brett Donowho. The film centers around Roman, played by Ashton Holmes, who teams up with his ex-military buddies and a calloused investigator Detective James Avery, played by Willis, to rescue his fiancé Mia, played by Melissa Bolona. Acts of Violence promises plenty of drama and action along with a star-studded cast that includes Sophia Bush, who will be playing Willis’ partner, Detective Brooke Baker, and Sean Ashmore.
While not too much is known about the plot, Melissa Bolona has mentioned that Mia will be more than the film’s damsel in distress. Mia is kidnapped on the night of her bachelorette party, but whether or not Mia will actually be rescued, or save herself, has not been revealed. The synopsis also hints at a major conflict between Willis’ character, James Avery, and one of the heads of the human trafficking ring. Avery is described as being reluctant to align with Roman, and there may be possible references to a complex past that will be revealed during the movie. Meanwhile, Sophia Bush is doing a throwback to her role in One Tree Hill, where her famous character’s name coincides with the one she’ll be playing in Acts of Violence. The film is currently in post-production and is set to hit theaters in the latter half of 2017.
Acts of Violence is not the only 2017 film to feature Melissa Bolona. The actress will also appear in the films Category 5 and Malicious. To track the status of Acts of Violence and other Melissa Bolona films, visit Melissa Bolona IMDB.
